SEAL KIT MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS

An ideal time to install the seal kit onto the truck cap mounting rail is while it is still upside down, just before you place the truck cap onto the truck.

1. The cap rail must be clean and dry. We recommend as adhesive cleaner that will not leave an oily film.

2. Install double faced tape all the way across the front of the truck cap. Place it 1” from the outside edge, or as far as possible from the outside edge, up to 1”.

3. Install double faced tape down both side rails, keep tape edge 1-1/4” from the outside edge of the truck cap. Start at the front, put this tape up to the tape that goes across the front of the cap and work you way to the rear.

4. Remove the tape backing, exposing the adhesive.

5. Carefully place the 1” wide part of the seal onto the 1” wide tape as shown. Use the tape as your guide. Install across the front first, then the sides. Place the side seal up against the front seal, then work your way to the rear.                        

6. Now press down firmly to “set” the seal onto the adhesive.

7. After you have finished installing the Tilt-A-Topper Kit and all adjustments are completed, and with the truck cap down and handles shut, use a scissor to snip the outer edge of the rubber seal on either side of each lower hinge plate. Now lift the cap up and cut the seal straight in about ¾”. This will give you a good seal around the hinges.

8. Trim excess seal with scissor to you liking.
